Octane Flyer is set to take on the Group 3 Skyline Stakesat Warwick Farm this Saturday March 16, 2013.
The two-year-old will be having his third career run in the race after a successful start to racing last October.
Octane Flyer has won one of his two race starts and has earned more than $42,000 in prize money during his career.
Trainer Kelly Schweida said the wet weather in Queensland had a lot to do with Octane Flyer’s start in the 2013 Skyline Stakes.
“I had individual races set for all my two-year-olds but with the amount of meetings being called off they ended up bunched together in the same event and owners don’t like that much,” Schweida said.
“So I thought I’d go down to Warwick Farm. It’s 1200 metres which will suit him and if he can run in the first four I’d be happy with that.”
Octane Flyer is not yet entered for the 2013 Golden Slipper, and the 2013 Skyline Stakes will be used to decide whether or not they should pay the late entry fee.
“Most people want the fortnight lead-up run before the Slipper and I thought this race might end up suiting us a bit better,” he said.
“Sometimes you can get an off week before the Slipper where they can end up with small fields.
“It’s not a big field and it’s good prizemoney so why not have a go?”
